Feel the touch of little japan enter the residence of akter hamed rana in niketan,Dhaka .The zen feel is attained by the lucid flow of space, maintained throughout the apartment, the challenge was to play with the structural grid and the restricted existing volume, thereby adding additional spaces and architectural elements to extend and enhance the living experiences. The living room designed with rustic tiles on one wall with matching curtain on window complimented by leather sofa of same color. The kitchen is open and its designed as an interactive space. Its black and light brown contrast coupled with mini breakfast unit, emphasized with a track lighting shade adds a twist to the unit. and crockery storage in both under working counter and overhead cabinet. Sliding doors for all the bedrooms and toilet shows how can we save spaces. Wood adds warmth to any space its used throughout the to add to the luxurious look of the apartment .bedroom furniture were designed with simple straight lines .Security and mood lighting controls have been integrated in all spaces.
This contemporary space is fresh and airy with straight lines that dominate the existing space. A small entrance lobby opens into the living cum dining room with a wooden false ceiling reflecting indirect lighting. Spanish rustic tiles cladded wall on one side of living room with a leather sofa reflects true luxury to the space. Glass panel on the false ceiling above the dining table adds drama to the area. Dark chocolate wooden floor dominate the interior of the master bedroom further dark and light combined bed and wall paneling has an extra touch in the design. simple contemporary environment for the daughter’s white and orange room with a false ceiling. As an bookworm client wanted a study room with huge storage space for his collection of books ,so overhead cabinets were built to do so.
Fusing modern style with a touch of traditional, the 2000 sft apartment is characterized by simple lines and accentuated through color, textures and art efects.the passage opens into a warm living area with raised wooden floor and customized designed contemporary sofa sets that is kept company by 2 centre table with provision of magazine storage. In the dining .a bright mastered highlight wall becomes an interesting backdrop for some paintings collected from india.opposite wall reflects the rough and smart look with rustic wall cladding that same pattern can be found at the top of the dining table. The master bedroom sees the use of rich fabrics at backrest of bed and textured paint wall behind that. Opulent window dressing and indirect lighting resulting into a relaxed zone. Keeping the aesthetics and functionality in mind a separate male female cabinet and dressing unit has been created. Colorful child bedroom with enough storage space of books and toys for the little girl with her own cloth cabinet and dressing unit make a comfort for her.
The zahid ibne hai ,s apartment in niketan,Dhaka is a paean to light and air. The spatial freedom and intimate connection with the elements is emphasized by the partial absence of framing elements, large windows around the apartment helps a free circulation of air and natural light. The shape of the area is quite unusual than the other projects it is a triangular shaped apartment where more detailing on furniture setting and design was needed to accommodate clients all desires. Specialty of this project is also its homogenous Malaysian floor tiles of different colors which flows as a form all over the area. As the shape was unusual we thought of using that triangular shape in the furniture too, if one notice the design of master bed and dining table along with dining cabinet it would be clear. False ceiling also created in some places so that at night concealed cove lighting behind the floating ceiling washes the walls in gentle glow. Colorful paintings of Cinderella on a whole wall with matching pink furniture at daughters room cherish anyone.
While planning the layout of this compact three bedroom 1800 sft apartment was to open up areas and free living spaces. Client wanted a contemporary home with airy rooms, spacious ,soothing and cooling environment. They had a good collection of books so the guest room was designed in such a way that they can get enough space to store books not only this lobby to other two bedrooms and family living area a full height bookshelf placed with a sitting arrangement at middle .there is in fact a lot of play on glass and mirrors throughout the area such as glass is there at the false ceiling of foyer and living room ,a glass shelf showpiece rack is used as a partition between foyer and living room. Living room and dining cum family living is divided by wooden framed glass folding doors , glass flowers with a wall painted design can be found at 2nd bed room. Mirrors are used in different spaces to make it more spacious and multiply the views, luxury can experienced through the toilets Italian tiles and fixtures with accessories not tiny like most Dhaka city bathrooms.
